DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) to cancel and replace any stolen drivers license and to flag your file. Also check DMV for all vehicles listed in your name. Never lend a driver’s licence, or allow another person to get one in your name. Never allow someone else to title and register a vehicle in your name. If you make a mistake on a DMV application, tear it in tiny pieces or take it home to shred. In many DMV offices you can request a special form that will allow you to register your address as a PO Box, and help keep your information private. There have been many ID theft cases because some dishonest employee at the DMV decided to make false Id’s for their friends, using someone else’s information. Just check yourself out in the report posted in id theft support area on 2/20/2008, - You’ll find your photo, and all your drivers license info waiting to be stolen (if you live in the US).
